·    Keep a good eye on your Cashflow – Plan your cashflow requirements carefully and allow for any differences in the payment terms you receive from your suppliers and those you give to your customers
·    Review your cashflow regularly; check it is in line with your forecast and act quickly if not.
·    You may need to make additional invetsment to take adevantage of lasting cost reductions.
·    Think carefully about whom you do business with i.e your customers.
·    Work hard to retain good customers by offering good discounts including repeat custom and large purchase discounts. Also offer rewards for early repayment.
·    Do not rely too much on one customer. You know what they say ‚‘‘do not put all your eggs in one basket.

·    Discuss with your bank available facilities for checking your customers credit worthiness - Get a free credit report online
 ·    Ensure your terms of payment are right and tighten up on no deffered payment policies.
·    You may introduce charges on any overdue debt.
·    Keep an eye on your budget, spend and forecats by frequently reviewing spend and forecast.
·    Keep a good eye on your Control cost – by disposing assets that do not offer competitive advantage
·    You may need to invest in improving operational efficiency to achieve long term gains.

·    Be aware of excessive cut in staff numbers, if you cut back  substantially now you are going to burden yourself with high recruitment cost later.
·    Take advantage of any unique opportunity that might come your way as a result of the recession. For example hiring good staff who become available as a result of the downturn and acquiring assets at big discount.
·    Put extra effort and focus on surviving the recession.
